Held at Chelsea Retirement Community from 10 a.m. til 3 p.m.

Tree Lighting Ceremony - 12/2

Three new beautiful spruce trees will be lit up with holiday lights on Friday evening at Pierce Park, followed by a stop from Santa as he heads downtown for more festivities. From 6 to 6:30.

Used Book Sale at the Library - 12/3

The library is holding a used book sale from 10-3 at their WSEC location. Contact the book sale Coordinator at (734) 475-8732 for more information.

Chelsea's Annual Hometown Holiday - 12/2 through 12/4

This weekend long event features a variety of activities for the family including visits with Santa: merchants will host special activities; cookie decorating; will have the town glowing with the spirit of the season. Christmas On The Farm - 12/3 and 12/4

Holiday Light Parade - 12/3

The parade begins at 6:00 p.m. at Main St. and Old US 12 and continues toward downtown, and concludes at the Clocktower Complex with a Parade Party featuring the Youth Dance Theater's preview of their Nutcracker ballet performance, a community sing-along and gingerbread house display. Hometown Holiday Concert - 12/4

Field Trip to Cranbrook and DIA with CCA - 12/9

The Chelsea Center for the Arts is hosting a field trip for kids 10 and up. The group and the CCA instructor will be given a tour given by Craig Hoernschemeyer, highlighting Cranbrook’s unique & historic architecture. They will then visit the Cranbrook Art Museum and have lunch in an Eliel Saarinen designed setting. Finally, they will visit the Detroit Institute of Arts to view “Fateful Encounter: Camille Claudel and Rodin," showing at it's only U.S. venue. Madrigal Dinner - 12/9 and 12/10

This annual event features a Renaissance dinner and holiday concert production by the Chelsea High School choir. Seating begins at 6:00 p.m. at Pierce Lake Elementary School.

The Glass Menagerie at the Purple Rose Theatre - thru 12/17

The American classic by Tennessee Williams is said to be one of his best plays. See it at our very own Purple Rose Theater, directed by PRTC's Michelle DiDomenico.
