Places to buy Christmas Trees in Chelsea, Michigan

Q: Do you know of any cut your own tree farms in your area ? [We would] like to spend the day there and pick up a tree at the same time. Thank you.

There are quite a few options in the Chelsea area. Some are located in Chelsea, and some are not too far out of town. I'm also including places to buy pre-cut trees for others who may have similar questions. My own personal experience is with Arend's, where we've bought our tree the last few years and have been pleased at the selection and how long the tree lasted. I also have heard from many folks that Urquhart's is a great place to bring the family for a Christmas tree outing.

Here is a list of places within easy driving distance of Chelsea that carry Christmas Trees and fresh greenery.

Greenery and Holiday Plants

• Garden Mill - Fresh greens, poinsettias, amaryllis and paperwhite bulbs, plus hand-crafted holiday decorations and ornaments
• Holiday Greenery Sale sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 425 (wreaths, swags, roping, etc.) - first weekend of December in front of Chelsea State Bank
• Heim Gardens Greenhouse and Florist - Wreaths, swags, roping, poinsettias, grave blankets, stone saddles and holiday centerpieces.

Christmas Tree Farms

  Offers both cut-your-own and pre-cut trees, wreaths, roping and swags. Take a wagon ride out to the trees and you may see llama, sheep, and even deer. Also offering hot chocolate and coffee and a gift shop.

  300 acre Christmas tree farm with many varieties of Christmas trees. Also offer wreaths, pre-cut living trees, garlands, container trees, tree stands, food & drinks, and wagon rides. Located between Grass Lake and Chelsea. Take I-94 West to exit 156 (Kalmbach Road) and follow the signs.
• Fodor Christmas Tree Farm

  Offering 78 acres of choose-and-cut or pre-cut Christmas trees in many varieties. Shaking, baling and wrapping services available, plus fresh wreaths, boughs and roping. Animated Christmas toy house. Take I-94 to exit 150, turn left on Mt Hope to traffic light. Take right on Michigan Ave. Turn left on Lake St., which becomes Burtch Rd.
