Event Descriptions

Car Seat Safety Clinics

Moore Pediatrics schedules car seat safety clinics on a regular basis. These clinics are open to our patients as well as non-patients.

Nutrition Classes

Trained chef and registered dietician Karin Elling shares her culinary and nutrition knowledge with others so that choosing the right foods becomes an easy and enjoyable component of a healthy, vibrant life. These classes are open to our patients, as well as non-patients. The format of these classes are designed for adults and teens.

I Am, Too, The Boss Of You

Taught by Dot Tretreault, this very popular parenting program, "I Am, Too, the Boss of You!" is open to all parents seeking an effective and respectful approach to better parenting. During the 8 week class you will learn:

• how to help your child listen and cooperate
• how to gain respect
• how to communicate honestly and effectively
• why your child's development matters
• how to help your children succeed
• that you are not alone; parenting is hard for everyone

Coffee with the Doctors

Let your child(ren) play at the Tree House in downtown Chelsea while you have coffee with their pediatrician. Admission to the Tree House is 50% off and light refreshments will be served. Open to our patients; space is limited to 8 parents. Contact us for upcoming dates and times.

Instructors

• Dot Tetreault, LMSW, ACSW has been providing parent education to families in Jackson County for 16 years. She is a private therapist and is honored to assist parents and children through the healing process of a variety of family related issues. Her specialties include topics such as the divorce process, grieving and loss, trauma, depression and the parent/child relationship. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.
• Karin Elling is a registered dietitian and trained chef. During her training at The Culinary Institute of America she began to see that healthy food could be gourmet, beautiful and delicious-not "rabbit food"! Her main goal as a dietitian is to share her culinary and nutrition knowledge with others so that choosing the right foods becomes an easy and enjoyable component of a healthy, vibrant life. She gets profound joy out of helping people to discover how exciting and empowering nutriton can be. A busy person who practices what she preaches, Karin has devised strategies for making sure she and her husband regularly eat the way she encourages others to eat.
