News Tidbits in Chelsea, Michigan - Dec. 2005

This page contains some of the interesting news I encounter in the course of keeping this site updated. I do not intend this to be a primary news source, but the topics seemed worth sharing nonetheless. For other sources of news in Chelsea, see the links at left.

Kudos to the Common Grill

The Common Grill was recently named as one of the top restaurants in the country in Zagat's 2006 America's Top Restaurants. Congrats to the whole staff! You guys make our hometown proud!

Other neighboring town favorites, Zingerman's and West End Grill in Ann Arbor, were also given the honors as among the best restaurants.

Check out the article from the Ann Arbor News on MLive for more information.

Jeff Daniels Talks about Chelsea and Hollywood

Jeff Daniels, Chelsea resident and Hollywood movie star, recently appeared on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report." The interview was to promote his new movie, The Squid and The Whale, and chat about our home town. Check out Comedy Central's clip of Jeff Daniel's interview.

Jeff Daniels also has a CD out to benefit The Purple Rose Theater. Check out www.jeffdaniels.com to learn more.

Webcam up for Library Construction

O'Neal Construction has set up a webcam for the McKune Memorial Library construction. Only those using Internet Explorer can access it, though. (Bummer for those of us who use Firefox or Mac's!). If you can't access the webcam, it's still worth taking a quick look at their site because they have some interesting progress photos, too. For more information about the library's construction, see the Chelsea District Library's Project Updates.
